MPEG-2 decoder is not registered correctly. I am not seeking help here, annoyed I did not read the forum reviews first. You cannot remove the software from ctrl-panel. Vista Business, with UAC disabled.

You are logged in as. I also have the same problem, installed the new dvd decoder for vista, but vista use the MS decoder. No trace of it being successfully installed.
Posted Eecoder 17, It seems to go through the install, but it shows that I am still using the Sindows decoder, and when I go remove CinePlayer to try installing again, it does not show up in the list of installed applicaitons.
All the updates finished, and all is great, except that when I tried playing a DVD, I got a message that there was no decoder. The file I downloaded was: I click on ok and then get the message “no permission or bad installation’.
No trace of it after installatioin and if I run the file again, it says it is already installed. It won’t install for me either. I downloaded Windows Install Cleanup and selected to remove the Roxio Product – Sorry I didn’t record the exact wording of what was listed in the removal tool. Followed by “Setup has determined that your configuration does not support any of the included products”.
Be careful and select only that decoder.

I also, have the common error when I try to open My DVD from Roxio suite 9; cinepkayer install mpeg-2 codec to continue” click ok get “no permission – bad installation”. This is when I decided to check the plug-in options for Windows Media Player. As for Vista, I may have to have a cineplayer dvd decoder for windows vista v1.0 judging by the many problems others seem to have.
